3 Bedrooms; the first a double with ensuite shower room, the second a twin and the third a double. Shared bathroom in between the second and third bedroom.
Basement: Garage with pingpong table. Shower and toilet.
Heating: Central heating, with an open fireplace in the living room.
Amenities: Private swimming pool, TV, ,wifi Internet, CD- and DVD-player, dishwasher, microwave oven, washing machine, cot (at request), barbecue, private parking.
The owner also has two mountain-bikes for rent, price indication €45/week/mountain-bike. To be paid locally if you would like to use the bikes.
House and surroundings
Quinta da Tapada is situated in a quiet, wooded area North of the lively market town of Fafe. The owners from Braga found here an ideal place, surrounded by green, to relax and enjoy the country air.
The villa is recently built on the foundations of an old farmhouse. It is completely and comfortably furbished, and offers ample space for 6 people.
On the roofed balcony at the back you have lots of privacy; undoubtedly you will spend many a summer evening there. At the front you will find the swimming pool, surrounded by a lawn. On the rest of the grounds, that are completely fenced, grow tall oaks and plane trees.
Quinta da Tapada is an excellent starting point for exploring the northern part of Portugal. The historic cities of Braga and Guimarães (Unesco World Heritage) are only a half hour’s drive away, and via the A7 motorway the coast, the city of Porto, the vineyards of the Douro valley and the untouched landscapes of Trás-os-Montes are within easy reach.
The vicinity as well as the nearby reservoir of Queimadela are very pleasant walking areas. Just South of Fafe is a 9-holes golf course.
The distance to Fafe is about 10 km. There you will find some large supermarkets and all other kinds of shops, restaurants, pastelarias, a health care center and other facilities, and a large weekly market. Nearby, in the village of Travassós (2 km), there is a café and a small shop with groceries and bread. The nearest restaurant is about 2.5 km further on.
- The minimum stay is 1 week.
- The day price for each extra day from the 2nd week = week price / 7.
- Cleaning is included, once per week starting 2nd week.

Information on the way we work:
To book one of our properties simply send us an e-mail with the following details:
- Your full name, address and mobile telephone number;
- The name of the property of your choice;
- The period (date of arrival and date of departure);
- The number of people (adults and children, plus ages of the children);
- The number of rooms (if applicable);
- Additional information, such as the use of a cot.
We will send you thereupon by e-mail a confirmation with directions for payment. At request we will send you a written confirmation by mail as well.
Payments can be made in Euros by an international bank transfer. You can also pay through Paypal, in which case we will make a 2% charge as a contribution to the costs incurred.
As soon as we receive your down payment, we will send you a confirmation by e-mail, including detailed directions to the property.
As soon as we receive the balance of the payment, we will send you a confirmation by e-mail. In this message we will ask you to let us know – not later than 2 days in advance – the time of arrival, so we or the owner can be on time to welcome you and hand over the keys.
In some cases, depending on the property, we will also send practical information and tourist information on the house and its surroundings. Like the directions, this information is a simple html file (Internet page), that can be viewed or printed with any webbrowser such as Internet Explorer or FireFox.
The day of your arrival
On the day of your arrival we or the owner will be at the property at the time you agreed upon. If you expect to arrive later, for instance because your flight is delayed, please let us know as soon as possible.
If we ourselves cannot be at the property on the day or time of your arrival, we will try to come by one of the following days. Of course you won’t need to stay in, waiting for us, so if we don’t meet and you do have questions, don’t hesitate to call us.
Information on shops , restaurants, sight seeing…
For all our properties detailed information is available on shops, restaurants, wine, sight seeing, but also on hospitals, pharmacies, banks, etc. In some cases you will find the information in the house, in other cases we will send it to you together with the confirmation of the payment of the balance.

It is your holiday, so we won’t bother you with a long questionnaire. But we would greatly appreciate if you could send us an e-mail afterwards, telling us what you thought of the organization and the property.
