    Ground floor: Main entrance. Living room with TV. 2 Twin bedrooms, each with ensuite bathroom.
    First floor (to be reached from the inside and outside): Fully fitted kitchen. Dining room. 2 Double bedrooms, each with ensuite bathroom. Veranda with table-set and an in-wall barbeque.
    Heating: Central heating, with an open fireplace in the dining room.
    Amenities: TV, dvd player, dishwasher, washing machine (in outbuilding), barbecue, cot (at request).

  • General (shared with Fundevila II and III)
    Swimming pool, garden, parking, Internet connection, private beach, canoes.

House and surroundings

Quinta de Fundevila is situated on the edge of the village of Pandoses, its grounds bordering on the reservoir of Caniçada. Along a cobbled lane (about 150 metres) you walk down to a small private beach, where you can swim, laze away the day or take a canoe onto the lake.
At the quinta are 3 tastefully restored stone farmhouses:
  – Fundevila I, called Casa do Penedo
  – Fundevila II, called Casa da Eira
  – Fundevila III, called Casa Mãe


Casa do Penedo is named after the boulder the house was built against. The original granite part forms a surprising contrast with the glass façade and the stairwell in the centre. The whole offers ample space and lots of comfort for 8 people. There are lovely views over the quinta and the lake from the living room and the patio at the front.
Outside the high season the villa can also be rented with 3 bedrooms (max. 6 people). In this case the 4th room remains closed.

Around the 3 houses is a large, well-kept garden with orange and lemon trees, and the pool and adjoining sun deck surrounded by a lawn. The rest of the grounds are still in their original state, small terraced fields sloping down to the lake.

The lake – 700 hectares – offers plenty of opportunities for watersports; you can hire canoes, jet skis and pedalos, and you can learn how to waterski.
Not far from Pandoses, at the “crossroads” of the reservoir, starts the national park Peneda-Gerês. You can find an information centre in the spa villages of Caldas do Gerês, where they provide information on flora and fauna of the park, archeological finds (among which the roman road that once lead from the city of Braga to Rome), walking routes, etc.

In the village of Parada de Bouro (2.5 km) are some small shops, cafés and a simple restaurant. There are more shops and supermarkets in nearby Vieira do Minho (8 km), and also banks, the post office, a health care center and a weekly market. The best restaurant is about 6 km away, in the historic pousada of Sta. Maria do Bouro.
The distance to Braga is about 30 km, and to Guimarães (Unesco World Heritage) 40 km.

  • The minimum stay in the high season is 1 week, in the rest of the year 4 days.
  • The day price for each extra day from the 2nd week = week price / 7.
  • Pets are not allowed.
  • Cleaning is included, once per week starting 2nd week.
  • The security deposit is € 300.
  • Not suitable for wheel chairs.

    Information on the way we work


    To book one of our properties simply send us an e-mail with the following details:

    • Your full name, address and mobile telephone number;
    • The name of the property of your choice;
    • The period (date of arrival and date of departure);
    • The number of people (adults and children, plus ages of the children);
    • The number of rooms (if applicable);
    • Additional information, such as the use of a cot.

    We will send you thereupon by e-mail a confirmation with directions for payment. At request we will send you a written confirmation by mail as well.

    The deposit

    Payments can be made in Euros by an international bank transfer. You can also pay through Paypal, in which case we will make a 2% charge as a contribution to the costs incurred.
    As soon as we receive your down payment, we will send you a confirmation by e-mail, including detailed directions to the property.


    As soon as we receive the balance of the payment, we will send you a confirmation by e-mail. In this message we will ask you to let us know – not later than 2 days in advance – the time of arrival, so we or the owner can be on time to welcome you and hand over the keys.

    The day of your arrival

    On the day of your arrival we or the owner will be at the property at the time you agreed upon. If you expect to arrive later, for instance because your flight is delayed, please let us know as soon as possible.
    If we ourselves cannot be at the property on the day or time of your arrival, we will try to come by one of the following days. Of course you won’t need to stay in, waiting for us, so if we don’t meet and you do have questions, don’t hesitate to call us.

    Information on shops , restaurants, sight seeing…

    For all our properties detailed information is available on shops, restaurants, wine, sight seeing, but also on hospitals, pharmacies, banks, etc. In some cases you will find the information in the house, in other cases we will send it to you together with the confirmation of the payment of the balance.

    It is your holiday, so we won’t bother you with a long questionnaire. But we would greatly appreciate if you could send us an e-mail afterwards, telling us what you thought of the organization and the property.
