Downstairs: 3 Double bedrooms, with ensuite bathroom. One twin bedroom and in the corridor one more bathroom. Billiard room with pool-table and a toilet.
Heating: Central heating, with an open fireplace in the living room and in the kitchen.
Amenities: Private swimming pool, billiard room with pool-table, wifi-Internet, TV, cd player, dvd player, dishwasher, microwave oven, toaster, coffee machine, washing machine, cot (at request), barbecue.

House and surroundings

Quinta de Favaes, is located just outside the village of Paredes de Coura in Favaes, where the house is named after. A great location for those wanting to stay in the unspoilt North-West of Portugal, but still close enough to the sea to spend a day at the beach.
The surroundings offer plenty to explore, like Rubiães, a civil parish in the municipality of Paredes de Coura (where romanization was striking), the nature reserve, Paisagem Protegida do Corno do Bico and the Minho river that forms the border with Spain. All these and many other places of interest are within easy reach.

 

The house was traditionally renovated and offers a tasteful mix of antique and new. In the kitchen you will find the old bread oven and the granite walls.
Behind the house, the garden terraces down to the pool area, which provides privacy and lovely views over the fields. Next to the swimming pool there is plenty of space for children to play.

 

Quinta de Favaes has 6 bedrooms, each for 2 people. You can decide how many rooms (5 or 6) you want to use. The remaining bedroom will be closed and not be let out to others, so you will always have the exclusive use of the rest of the house, the garden and the swimming pool!

 

In Paredes de Coura (2 km), you will find shops, cafés, restaurants, a post office, banks, etc.
About 5 km from the House is the natural park Paisagem Protegida do Corno do Bico, where you can make beautiful walks. The National park Peneda-Gerês, can be reached by car in about an hour’s drive. A visit to Ponte de Lima (35 km) is certainly recommended. This beautiful historic site also has a golf course with 18-holes. A day at the seaside in Caminha, a small town on the coast, takes a 45-minute drive. The distance to the old centre of Guimarães (Unesco World Heritage) is 95 km.

  • The minimum stay is 1 week in the high season, and 4 days in the rest of the year.
  • Cleaning is included, once per week starting 2nd week.
  • The security deposit is € 300.

    Information on the way we work

    Booking

    To book one of our properties simply send us an e-mail with the following details:

    • Your full name, address and mobile telephone number;
    • The name of the property of your choice;
    • The period (date of arrival and date of departure);
    • The number of people (adults and children, plus ages of the children);
    • The number of rooms (if applicable);
    • Additional information, such as the use of a cot.

    We will send you thereupon by e-mail a confirmation with directions for payment. At request we will send you a written confirmation by mail as well.

    The deposit

    Payments can be made in Euros by an international bank transfer. You can also pay through Paypal, in which case we will make a 2% charge as a contribution to the costs incurred.
    As soon as we receive your down payment, we will send you a confirmation by e-mail, including detailed directions to the property.

    Confirmation

    As soon as we receive the balance of the payment, we will send you a confirmation by e-mail. In this message we will ask you to let us know – not later than 2 days in advance – the time of arrival, so we or the owner can be on time to welcome you and hand over the keys.

    The day of your arrival

    On the day of your arrival we or the owner will be at the property at the time you agreed upon. If you expect to arrive later, for instance because your flight is delayed, please let us know as soon as possible.
    If we ourselves cannot be at the property on the day or time of your arrival, we will try to come by one of the following days. Of course you won’t need to stay in, waiting for us, so if we don’t meet and you do have questions, don’t hesitate to call us.

    Information on shops , restaurants, sight seeing…

    For all our properties detailed information is available on shops, restaurants, wine, sight seeing, but also on hospitals, pharmacies, banks, etc. In some cases you will find the information in the house, in other cases we will send it to you together with the confirmation of the payment of the balance.

    It is your holiday, so we won’t bother you with a long questionnaire. But we would greatly appreciate if you could send us an e-mail afterwards, telling us what you thought of the organization and the property.
