Ground floor: Large living/dining room with TV and open fireplace. Well equipped kitchen.
First floor: 3 Bedrooms (accessible through the veranda); 2 double and 1 twin, each with TV and ensuite shower room. Large veranda at the back, smaller veranda at the front.
Heating: Central heating, with an open fireplace in the living room.
Amenities: TV, dishwasher, washing machine, micro-wave oven, barbecue, cot and highchair (both at request).
*Heated swimming pool (6x12m), patios, garden, games room (snooker and table tennis), mountain bikes, wireless Internet.

 

* The heating of the swimming pool only works well from 20 degrees celcius, when the temperature is lower for several days, the system does not have enough capacity to heat up the pool to a comfortable temperature!

House and surroundings

The Quinta dos Vieiras – “the farm of the Vieiras family – and a few adjoining former farms make up the hamlet of Outeiro, which is part of Tabuaças.
A large wing of the main building, next to the eira (threshing floor), is transformed into a nice and comfortable holiday house for 6 people. Between the eira and the authentic espigueiro (a stone, narrow built corn shed) is a large pool and a fine sun terrace. The pool is heated, therefore the water is always pleasantly warm, even in early spring or late autumn.

 

One of the most agreeable places is the very spacious veranda at the back, looking out over the pool and the valley beyond with the foothills of the Serra da Cabreira.

 

The distance to the town of Vieira do Minho is about 2.5 km. There you will find all kinds of shops including 2 supermarkets, cafés, pastelarias, restaurants, banks and other facilities, and a large weekly market.

 

Along the reservoir of Ermal (10 km) are beaches and nice places to swim, and also a facility for waterskiing called Tele-Ski. More possibilities for watersports are to be found at the large reservoir of Caniçada (also 10 km). There are canoes, jet-skis, pedal boats and motor boats for rent and you can also learn to waterski.

 

The main road N103 is only a few kilometres away, which means easy access to for instance the Peneda-Gerês national park or the city of Braga. The distance to Guimarães (Unesco World Heritage) is about 35 km.

Particulars

  • The minimum stay in the high-season is one week, in the rest of the year 4 days.
  • The day price for each extra day from the 2nd week = week price / 7.
  • During the Mid-Season it is possible to rent the house with the use of 2 or 3 bedrooms.
  • Cleaning is included, once per week starting 2nd week.
  • The heated pool can be used from mid-May to mid-October; outside this period the availability depends on weather conditions.
  • Pets are not allowed.
  • Not suitable for wheel chairs.

Information on the way we work:

Booking

To book one of our properties simply send us an e-mail with the following details:

  • Your full name, address and mobile telephone number;
  • The name of the property of your choice;
  • The period (date of arrival and date of departure);
  • The number of people (adults and children, plus ages of the children);
  • The number of rooms (if applicable);
  • Additional information, such as the use of a cot.

We will send you thereupon by e-mail a confirmation with directions for payment. At request we will send you a written confirmation by mail as well.

The deposit

Payments can be made in Euros by an international bank transfer. You can also pay through Paypal, in which case we will make a 2% charge as a contribution to the costs incurred.
As soon as we receive your down payment, we will send you a confirmation by e-mail, including detailed directions to the property.

The balance

As soon as we receive the balance of the payment, we will send you a confirmation by e-mail. In this message we will ask you to let us know – not later than 2 days in advance – the time of arrival, so we or the owner can be on time to welcome you and hand over the keys.
In some cases, depending on the property, we will also send practical information and tourist information on the house and its surroundings. Like the directions, this information is a simple html file (Internet page), that can be viewed or printed with any webbrowser such as Internet Explorer or FireFox.

The day of your arrival

On the day of your arrival we or the owner will be at the property at the time you agreed upon. If you expect to arrive later, for instance because your flight is delayed, please let us know as soon as possible.
If we ourselves cannot be at the property on the day or time of your arrival, we will try to come by one of the following days. Of course you won’t need to stay in, waiting for us, so if we don’t meet and you do have questions, don’t hesitate to call us.

Information on shops , restaurants, sight seeing…

For all our properties detailed information is available on shops, restaurants, wine, sight seeing, but also on hospitals, pharmacies, banks, etc. In some cases you will find the information in the house, in other cases we will send it to you together with the confirmation of the payment of the balance.

It is your holiday, so we won’t bother you with a long questionnaire. But we would greatly appreciate if you could send us an e-mail afterwards, telling us what you thought of the organization and the property.
